Flash Flood Cripples Sangla‑Chitkul Road, ITBP Camp in Kinnaur Faces Threat

It was around 5 p.m. on Saturday when residents of the remote Sangla Valley first heard the roar – a sudden, thunderous rush that turned the usually serene Graga Nala into a raging torrent. Officials later said a cloudburst high up on the mountains dumped an enormous amount of rain in a matter of minutes, and the water, you know, just came barreling down.

The Shimla meteorological office has sounded a red alert for the coming days, forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rains across several districts, including Kinnaur, Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu and Sirmaur. So, if you were planning a weekend getaway in the hills, you might want to rethink those plans for now.
