Critical stabbing in Mississauga leaves man fighting for his life as police nab suspect

Police responded to a distress call around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday on Queensway East, just north of the Airport Road intersection. When officers arrived, they found a man on the ground with multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics worked quickly, stabilizing the victim before transporting him to Trillium Health Partners. He remains in a life‑threatening condition, with doctors saying his outlook is uncertain.

Witnesses, still shaken, told officers that a heated argument escalated into a knife attack. One by‑stander, a young woman who identified herself only as a friend of the victim, stayed at the scene until police took her statement.

Within a couple of hours, Peel Regional Police announced they had taken a suspect into custody. The individual, whose name has not been released pending further investigation, is being held at the Peel Detention Centre and is expected to face charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder.

Police are urging anyone with additional information or video footage from nearby businesses to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of more individuals being involved.

The community is left reeling, with local residents expressing shock and concern over the violent incident in what is usually a quiet neighbourhood.
