Closet Confession: Fugitives Snared in Webster Apartment Bust

Imagine this: officers are following a lead, pursuing a man with some pretty serious outstanding warrants. They arrive at an apartment on Main Street, and what unfolds next is almost like something plucked right from a crime drama.

The individual they were specifically looking for was Nicholas L. Guittar, 32. He was wanted on a probation violation, among other things, including charges related to possessing a firearm without the proper FID card. It's safe to say, authorities were keen to catch up with him.

So, the Webster Police Department received a crucial tip, pinpointing Guittar's whereabouts to that specific Main Street address. Upon arrival, they knocked, and a woman, later identified as Alexis L. Rivera, 31, answered the door. Initially, she denied that Guittar was present in the apartment, trying to brush off their inquiries. But as often happens, a small detail gave it all away. Officers noticed a jacket inside the apartment that strongly resembled one Guittar was known to wear. That visual clue, combined with the earlier tip, provided enough reason for the officers to believe he was indeed inside.

With their suspicions confirmed, the officers entered the apartment. And then, lo and behold, after a quick search, they found Nicholas Guittar. Where, you might ask? Hiding, perhaps somewhat comically, in a closet. It's a classic move, isn't it? One often sees it in movies, but it certainly played out in real life on this occasion.

But the story doesn't end there, because as police continued their investigation, they quickly discovered that Rivera herself also had outstanding warrants. Her charges were significant too, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace. Talk about a double whammy for the officers involved!

Both Guittar and Rivera were taken into custody without any further fuss, which is always a relief for law enforcement. Guittar, as expected, was formally charged with his probation violation, along with new charges stemming from the investigation: possession of a firearm without an FID card, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a large capacity firearm, and possession of a large capacity feeding device. These are indeed very serious allegations.

As for Rivera, she faced her own array of charges, including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace. Both individuals were slated to be arraigned in Dudley District Court, where they would answer for the various charges brought against them. It was, all things considered, a very successful operation for the Webster Police Department, bringing two individuals with outstanding warrants off the streets thanks to diligent police work and, of course, that initial valuable tip.
