Black Law V: Scotland's Largest Onshore Wind Farm Expands, Powering a Greener Future

A new era of green energy has dawned in Scotland, as the Black Law wind farm, already the nation's largest onshore facility, has completed its significant Black Law V expansion. This monumental project, spearheaded by ScottishPower Renewables, sees 14 state-of-the-art turbines added to the existing 54, dramatically boosting its capacity and reinforcing Scotland's position at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution.

Nestled near Forth in South Lanarkshire, the Black Law wind farm now boasts an impressive total generating capacity of 189MW.

The original 54 turbines were already providing enough clean electricity for approximately 90,000 homes. With the addition of the new Black Law V section, contributing an extra 60MW of power, the entire farm can now energize an incredible 136,000 homes annually. This £70 million investment is a powerful testament to Scotland’s unwavering commitment to a sustainable future.
