BJP Rolls Out Month‑Long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to Celebrate 25 Years of Narendra Modi’s Public Service

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled a month‑long programme called “Seva Sankalp Abhiyan,” set to run from 17 September to 17 October. The idea is simple: organise a suite of community‑service events that echo Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25‑year journey in public life.

Day one, 17 September, is earmarked as “Seva Diwas.” Across towns and villages, blood‑donation camps will pop up, and at exactly 7 p.m., volunteers at every BJP booth will light a lamp – an “Aashirwad Ka Diya” – as a modest tribute to Modi’s years of service.

Young people aren’t left out. From 17 September through 7 October, schools will host drawing and speech contests under the banner “Mere Sapno Ka Bharat.” It’s a chance for children to sketch their vision of India, or deliver a short talk about what the nation means to them.

Meanwhile, the party’s cultural wing is rolling out “Namo Seva‑Ankahi Kahaniyan,” a series of music and theatre performances that aim to narrate, in creative form, the story of service.

Community health workers get a shout‑out too. Between 25 September and 7 October, the “Aangan Milan Seva” will honour Anganwadi and ASHA workers for their on‑the‑ground contributions. The week will close with a “Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra,” where participants light a symbolic lamp and pledge to push for a developed India.

In total, 25 distinct activities are slated for the campaign. One of them, the “Seva Setu Abhiyan,” will take place at the block level, helping citizens navigate government schemes and benefits. The final day, 17 October, will feature a “Sushasan Seva Samvad,” a dialogue on good governance and the role of ordinary people in nation‑building.

BJP National President Nitin Nabin highlighted the significance of the dates, noting that Modi first stepped into public office on 7 October 2001 as Gujarat’s chief minister. “From that day onward, he has consistently moved India from darkness to a fast‑growing economy,” Nabin said at a press briefing in New Delhi.
