Amnesty International: Syrian Forces Accused of Executing Dozens of Druze Civilians

A damning report from Amnesty International has cast a grim light on the ongoing atrocities in Syria, specifically accusing Syrian government forces and their allied militias of the brutal execution of at least 46 Druze civilians. These horrific acts allegedly occurred during a devastating attack on villages in Sweida province in July 2018, shattering any illusion of waning conflict or accountability.

The human rights watchdog meticulously documented the events of that fateful summer, asserting that a coordinated assault by pro-government forces led to summary killings, arbitrary detentions, and the torture of civilians.

Among the 46 confirmed dead were six women and four children, highlighting the indiscriminate cruelty of the violence unleashed upon the predominantly Druze communities.
