Alto Food Hall Brings 15 Global Flavors to Hoboken’s Southend Lofts

Hoboken’s skyline is about to get a tasty new addition. A sleek condo building called Southend Lofts, perched at 38 Jackson Street, will soon host a food hall named Alto.

The hall isn’t just another collection of take‑out windows. Orbital Kitchens, the operator behind the project, signed a lease to turn the building’s public atrium into a bustling culinary marketplace with roughly fifteen distinct restaurant concepts. Think Thai curries, modern Chinese dim sum, Hawaiian‑style barbecue, Korean fried chicken, tacos, sushi, ramen bowls, and even sourdough‑crusted pizza.

Design firm EL Design Corp. gave Alto a bright, open‑air feel, complete with a separate smoothie café that will serve up fresh fruit blends and protein‑packed drinks. Indoor seating lets diners linger, while self‑service kiosks, a dedicated mobile app, and third‑party delivery partners keep the ordering process fast and flexible.

“Alto is exactly the type of forward‑thinking operator we envisioned for Southend Lofts,” said Gary Mezzatesta, a partner with the Taurasi Group, the developers of the condo. “We set out to create more than just a collection of storefronts. We are assembling a complementary mix of businesses that enhances everyday life for our residents while creating an inviting neighborhood destination for the broader Hoboken community.”

Construction is already under way, and the developers expect the doors to swing open early next year. The hall will join a ground‑floor supermarket and an existing dumpling shop, turning the corner of Hoboken into a one‑stop food destination for locals and visitors alike.
