A Nation Mourns: PM Modi Expresses Deep Grief Over Tragic Sivaganga Road Accident

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon hearing the harrowing news, expressed his deepest sorrow and heartfelt condolences. "Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident in Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray that the injured recover soon," the Prime Minister conveyed, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

To this end, Prime Minister Modi also approved an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased person. Additionally, those who sustained injuries in the accident will receive Rs 50,000. While no amount of money can ever replace a life, such assistance can, perhaps, alleviate some of the immediate financial burdens on grieving families.
