2023 Emmy Awards winners list: ‘Succession,’ ‘The Last of Us’ lead pack

A bit off schedule, the 2023 Emmy Awards are taking place in 2024. After a months long postponement due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes last year, the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards have arrived. This year, a number of fan favourite shows, including HBO’s Succession and The Last of Us , will vie for recognition as the best of the best that television has to offer.
Succession leads all nominees with a whopping 27 in total. The Last of Us is close behind with 24, while The White Lotus received 23. Members of the academy and academics collaborated to create a list of the 75 Most Impactful Television Moments that was revealed Friday. The list is topped by the moon landing and includes Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech, the Beatles’ appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show and famous scenes from Seinfeld , The Sopranos and Sesame Street .
And during Monday night’s show, producers will present a series of cast reunions and scene recreations from beloved shows including Cheers , I Love Lucy , Grey’s Anatomy and Martin . The ceremony will be hosted by Anthony Anderson at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It will be telecast live on CTV in Canada, starting at 8 p.m.
