Tragedy Strikes Sharda University: Student's Suicide Highlights Academic Pressure

It’s a truly somber day for the community in Greater Noida, as news broke of a heartbreaking loss within the very walls of Sharda University. A young student, a first-year B.Tech hopeful named Pulkit Singh, was tragically found deceased in his hostel room – a scene that has undoubtedly sent shockwaves through the entire campus.

The 18-year-old, originally hailing from Varanasi, was discovered hanging in his room, an unspeakably sad sight for those who found him. What truly underscores the depth of his despair, however, was the poignant suicide note left behind. According to local police, this crucial message points directly to immense, overwhelming academic pressure as the reason for his extreme step.

In his own words, penned in what must have been a moment of profound struggle and agony, Pulkit expressed how utterly overwhelmed he felt by his studies. He spoke of being unable to manage the workload, the relentless pressure seemingly crushing his spirit and making it impossible to cope. Heartbreakingly, he used the note to offer a final apology to his family, pleading for their forgiveness – a testament to the immense guilt and sorrow he carried.

Upon being alerted to the tragic incident, local police promptly arrived at the university hostel. Their initial investigation, while still ongoing, indicates no immediate signs of foul play, strongly suggesting this was indeed a suicide. Officers have since taken custody of the young man’s body, dispatching it for a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death as per standard procedure.

Naturally, the student's family, residing back in Varanasi, was immediately informed of the devastating news. This tragedy, however, isn't an isolated incident for Sharda University. Worryingly, it marks the second such case in just three months. Back in October, another student, this time from Ghaziabad, also took his own life, tragically citing academic stress as the primary reason for his desperate act.

These heartbreaking incidents serve as a stark, urgent reminder of the immense pressures young people, especially those navigating the challenging waters of higher education, often grapple with.
