The Odyssey Hits ₹90 Crore Milestone in India – Day 5 Box‑Office Scoop

Christopher Nolan’s latest venture, The Odyssey, has turned a few heads in the Indian market. By Tuesday – the film’s fifth day in theatres – the box‑office numbers nudged past the ₹90 crore mark, according to early estimates.

On day 5 the movie pulled in roughly ₹8.35 crore net, nudging the cumulative net figure to about ₹77.65 crore. When you add the gross side of the ledger, the total climbs past ₹92.6 crore – a tidy little leap from the ₹70‑plus crore tallies it posted just a couple of days earlier.

The opening weekend was nothing short of a roller‑coaster. Friday kicked off with a net ₹17.4 crore, Saturday surged to ₹22 crore, and Sunday held steady at ₹21.9 crore, pushing the weekend net beyond ₹61 crore. Those numbers set a solid foundation for what looks like a long‑run.

Interestingly, the original English version kept pulling the lion’s share of the crowd, adding roughly ₹6.5 crore on Tuesday alone and registering the highest occupancy across all formats. The dubbed Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions contributed as well, but they were clearly playing second fiddle.

A particularly shiny feather in the cap is the IMAX record. The Odyssey has become India’s highest‑grossing IMAX opener ever, a milestone that Nolan’s fanbase will certainly brag about.

Looking ahead, the studio is eyeing a ₹150 crore target for the Indian run. However, the road won’t be entirely smooth – a fresh Spider‑Man outing, Brand New Day, is set to hit screens on 30 July, promising a dash of competition.

All figures are still estimates, not the final audited numbers, but if the trend holds, Nolan’s odyssey through India could well become one of the year’s standout box‑office stories.
