Stabbing in Scarborough Apartment Leaves One Hospitalized, Suspect Arrested

It was just after 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday when officers responded to a frantic 911 call from an apartment building on the corner of Kingston Road and Midland Avenue. According to Toronto Police, a man was found with multiple stab wounds inside his unit.

Paramedics arrived within minutes, rushed the victim to the hospital and said he was in stable condition, though his injuries were serious enough to keep him under observation. "He’s responding well to treatment, and we’re keeping close tabs on his progress," a hospital spokesperson told reporters.

Police quickly canvassed the building and, after speaking with several neighbours, identified a suspect. The man – described as a male in his mid‑20s – was taken into custody without incident and is now facing multiple assault charges.

Detective Sergeant Maria Li, who is leading the investigation, said the motive is still unknown. "We’re reviewing CCTV footage, talking to witnesses, and looking into any prior disputes that might have led to this," she explained.
