Saif Ali Khan Reveals Behind‑the‑Scenes Fun of His Dapper Avatar in Haiwaan

When the promotional video for the upcoming thriller Haiwaan hit the internet, fans immediately latched onto Saif Ali Khan’s sleek, almost cinematic wardrobe. The actor, dressed in a crisp white ensemble, strutted alongside Akshay Kumar, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in the catchy track “Main Toh Nahi Haiwaan.”

Scrolling through the clip, you can see Saif’s signature swagger, but there’s more than meets the eye. In a behind‑the‑scenes Instagram Reel posted on his official handle @saifalikhanpataudiworld, the star answers a slew of light‑hearted questions about the shoot. One question, of course, zeroed in on his eye‑catching outfit.

“I was a little worried it didn’t feel like the character at first,” Saif admits, chuckling. “But then we thought, why not stretch the idea a bit? It turned out to be one of the wildest things we did. I think I’ve been exposed!” He bursts into laughter, the kind that feels almost contagious.

The dapper look, he reveals, was the brainchild of designer Komal Shahani, who crafted the crisp white shirt, fitted trousers and that understated, almost regal blazer. “I love Akshay’s look too,” Saif adds, hinting at the visual contrast the two lead actors bring to the screen – “I’m supposed to be a little more pure, a bit like light, while he’s the darkness.”

Beyond the wardrobe talk, Saif gushes about his role in the film. He plays a visually‑challenged character, a part he describes as “probably the best character I’ve had in my life.” The actor credits director‑writer Priyadarshan for giving him a canvas that’s both challenging and rewarding. “It’s an author‑backed kind of role, and working with one of the finest directors is a blessing,” he says.

Haiwaan, a Hindi remake of Priyadarshan’s own 2016 Malayalam hit Oppam, also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and features a cameo by Malayalam legend Mohanlal. The film carries a bittersweet note as it marks the final screen appearance of veteran comedian Asrani, who passed away in October 2025.
