Punjab Grapples with Unprecedented Floods, Educational Institutions Shut Down Amid Crisis

In a decisive move to prioritize public safety amidst some of the worst flooding Punjab has witnessed in decades, the state government has announced the closure of all schools, colleges, universities, and other educational institutions until September 7. This urgent directive comes as relentless heavy rainfall has led to widespread waterlogging, submerging vast areas and disrupting daily life across several districts.

The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, emphasized the critical need for this measure, stating that the primary concern is the safety and well-being of students and staff.

The severe weather conditions have rendered many roads impassable and created hazardous environments, making travel to educational institutions unsafe.
