Kane County Early Voting Kicks Off Sept. 24 – Locations, Hours and What You Need to Know

Mark your calendars: Kane County’s early‑voting season begins on Monday, September 24, giving residents a few weeks to get their ballots in before the November 3, 2026 general election.

The first doors will swing open at the County Clerk’s main office – 719 S. Batavia Ave., Building B in Geneva – and at the Aurora satellite office at 5 E. Downer Place. Both locations will be staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, so you can pop in on a lunch break or after work.

Starting October 19, the county expands the network with permanent early‑voting sites. You’ll find a spot at the Kane County Branch Court on 530 S. Randall Road in St. Charles, another at Carpentersville Fire Station No. 93, plus locations in Elgin Township, the Gail Borden Library, and the Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora. Those sites will stretch their hours as Election Day nears – many will stay open until 7 p.m., and some will even open a bit later in the morning.

Want to vote on a weekend? No problem. The permanent sites will be open on Saturday, Oct. 24 and Oct. 31, as well as Sunday, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. That gives you a chance to head to the polls without juggling a weekday schedule.

For those who prefer a community hub, the county adds “alternative” locations on Oct. 19, including the Campton Community Center, Hampshire Township, the city halls of Batavia and Elgin, the Sugar Grove Library, Del Webb Sun City and West Dundee. Each site has its own set of dates, so check the official schedule before you go.

Don’t forget the Vote Mobile – a traveling voting van that will stop at Elgin Community College, several Jewel‑Osco stores (Batavia, Elburn, West Dundee, Elgin, St. Charles and Aurora) and the North Aurora Police Department. Those pop‑up sites generally run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. between Oct. 19 and Oct. 28.

If you missed the registration deadline of Oct. 6, there’s a grace period. Starting Oct. 7 you can register at the clerk’s office in Geneva or the Aurora satellite office. Just remember: you’ll have to vote the same day you register.
