K.T. Rama Rao Pushes for Fast‑Track Construction of JNTU Engineering College’s Permanent Campus in Sircilla

KTR urges CM Revanth Reddy to speed up ₹402 crore campus project

BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao writes to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asking for immediate funds and construction of the JNTU Engineering College’s permanent site at Mandepalli, after two years of delay.

In a candid letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao has sounded the alarm over the long‑standing delay in building a permanent campus for the JNTU Engineering College in Rajanna Sircilla district.

The project, cleared administratively back in 2021 and priced at roughly ₹402 crore, still sits on a 20‑acre plot at Mandepalli village. Meanwhile, the college is cramped in makeshift classrooms inside a degree college at Agraharam, a situation that’s becoming increasingly untenable for students and staff alike.

Rao cautioned against any hasty plan to shift the institute into a private building, warning that such a move could render the existing labs, workshops and classrooms useless – a waste of the limited resources the college already has.

He urged the state government to release the pending funds straightaway and to fast‑track construction so that the campus can finally open its doors. Moreover, Rao asked that officials refrain from issuing any vacate notices until a proper alternative is secured, protecting the continuity of academic activities.

With the academic year rolling on, Rao appealed for the chief minister’s personal intervention to avoid disruption and to safeguard the interests of the hundreds of engineering aspirants who deserve a proper learning environment.
