Brown-Forman, the Louisville-based spirits giant behind Jack Daniel's, recently reported a notable decline in its quarterly net sales within Canada, signaling a potentially potent impact from a burgeoning 'Buy Canadian' movement.

Fuelled by a social media campaign urging Canadians to favour domestic products, a boycott of American alcohol brands has gained traction since March. The genesis? A contentious dispute over aluminum tariffs, which saw Canada impose retaliatory measures against U.S. goods, including spirits, in response to American duties on Canadian aluminum.

While calls for boycotts have also targeted other American-associated brands like Coors Light and Budweiser, Jack Daniel's finds itself in a particularly vulnerable position.
