Important Update: Bengaluru-Hyderabad Vande Bharat Express Adjusts Friday Schedule

Travelers between the bustling tech hubs of Bengaluru and Hyderabad should take note of an important update regarding the popular Vande Bharat Express. Starting December 4, 2023, the high-speed train service connecting Karnataka’s capital with Telangana’s capital will no longer operate on Fridays, transitioning to a six-day-a-week schedule.

This operational adjustment by Indian Railways means that the prestigious train numbers 20703 and 20704, linking KSR Bengaluru with Secunderabad (Hyderabad), will provide daily service from Saturday through Thursday, effectively making Fridays a non-operational day for this particular route.

The move is part of routine operational planning, likely aimed at facilitating essential maintenance work to ensure the continued efficiency and safety of the Vande Bharat fleet.

The current schedule for train number 20703, which departs KSR Bengaluru at 2:30 PM and arrives at Secunderabad at 11:15 PM, will remain unchanged for its operational days.

Similarly, train number 20704, which commences its journey from Secunderabad at 5:30 AM and reaches KSR Bengaluru by 2:00 PM, will also maintain its existing timings on the revised schedule.

This change is significant for passengers who frequently utilize the Vande Bharat Express for their weekend travel plans or business trips, as it previously offered a convenient daily connection.

While the overall frequency remains high, individuals planning Friday travel will now need to explore alternative transportation options or adjust their travel dates accordingly.

Indian Railways encourages passengers to check official railway websites or the NTES app for the most up-to-date information on train schedules and to make their bookings well in advance, especially during peak travel seasons.
