Heartbreaking Protest: Father Carries Stillborn Foetus, Alleges Medical Negligence in UP

Chunnu accused the Goldar Hospital, located in Mahawaganj, of severe lapses in care that he claims led to the tragic loss of his child.

According to his heartbreaking account, his wife, Seema Devi, was admitted to the hospital after experiencing labor pains. The couple was allegedly informed that a Caesarean section was necessary, for which the hospital demanded a significant sum of money. Despite their financial constraints, Chunnu managed to arrange the funds.

However, the situation reportedly took a turn for the worse.

Chunnu claims that after receiving the payment, the hospital staff inexplicably referred his wife to another facility in Bahraich without proper explanation or initial treatment. By the time Seema Devi reached the second hospital, it was tragically too late; their child was stillborn.

Overwhelmed by grief and a profound sense of injustice, Chunnu made the agonizing decision to bring his stillborn foetus directly to the District Collectorate.

Taking Chunnu's allegations seriously, the DM promptly ordered the sealing of Goldar Hospital. Furthermore, a comprehensive inquiry has been launched to investigate the claims of medical negligence and to ascertain the circumstances that led to the stillbirth. Dr. Sunil Singh, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Bahraich, confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed the Goldar Hospital was operating without proper registration, adding another layer of concern to the already tragic incident.
