Group 2 Boys Volleyball: Unpacking April 22nd's Stellar Stat Leaders

There's just something special about seeing these young athletes push their limits, and last Wednesday was certainly no exception. We saw some truly spectacular individual performances that, quite frankly, deserve a closer look. It's always a thrill to highlight the talent that's making waves across our state, so let's get right into who was absolutely owning the stat sheets.

When it came to putting the ball away with authority, the 'Kills' category saw some remarkable hitters. Daniel Choi from Old Tappan led the charge, absolutely crushing it with a whopping 23 kills – what a performance! Right behind him, Ryan Johnsen from West Windsor-Plainsboro South wasn't far off, delivering 22 kills himself. Sean Neely of Wallkill Valley also had a fantastic showing with 19, while Anthony Contini from St. Joseph (Met.) and Daniel Chung from West Windsor-Plainsboro South each notched 18 kills. Talk about offensive firepower; these guys really know how to attack!

Of course, none of those thunderous kills happen without brilliant setting, and the 'Assists' leaders truly showcased their playmaking prowess. Ethan Lin from West Windsor-Plainsboro South was orchestrating his team's offense beautifully, racking up an impressive 37 assists. Not to be outdone, Ethan Rini of Wallkill Valley dished out 36 assists, demonstrating incredible court vision. Aiden Kim of Old Tappan contributed 34 assists, and Andrew Gordon from St. Joseph (Met.) added 32. Rounding out the top five, Matt Tureff from Jefferson also had a solid day with 26 assists.
