Former cricketer Ambati Rayudu quits Jagan Reddy's YSRCP days after joining the party

Ex-Indian cricketer, Ambati Rayudi, has announced his departure from the YSR Congress Party only a few days after joining, choosing to distance himself from politics for the time being. Rayudi, formerly a player for the Chennai Super Kings, did not provide any particular reason for his sudden decision to leave the party. Instead, he communicated through a social media post that he would make known his future plans in due time. Rayudi, who hung up his boots from the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2023 following a victory for his team, joined the YSRCP, Andhra Pradesh's ruling party just last week. His entry into politics was made official in the presence of the Chief Minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy, and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy. Throughout his illustrious career, Rayudi played several international matches for the Indian team, participated in the IPL, and represented numerous state cricket associations. He scored a total of 1694 runs in 55 ODIs, with an unbeaten 124 being his personal best, and smashed three centuries and 10 half-centuries for the Indian team. He also represented the Indian team in six T20I games, scoring a total of 42 runs. Domestically, he has played for Hyderabad, Andhra, Baroda and Vidarbha. During his tenure with the Chennai Super Kings, he participated in 90 matches and scored 1,932 runs at a formidable average of 30.18, boasting his best score of 100 not out.
