Delhi Shocker: Man Murders Live-in Partner, Sleeps Beside Body in Drunken Stupor

Police have apprehended a man identified as Varun, following the gruesome discovery of his live-in partner, Renu, found lifeless in their rented room. What makes this case particularly unsettling, beyond the act itself, is the perpetrator's alleged behavior immediately following the crime: he was reportedly so intoxicated that he simply fell asleep beside the deceased, unable to carry out his initial, macabre plan of body disposal.

However, as the police have described, his extreme state of intoxication rendered him incapable. The next day, with a sobering, albeit horrifying, realization of what he had done, Varun reportedly attempted to move Renu’s body. Yet again, his efforts were in vain, his previous night's drinking still affecting his strength and coordination. He then, it seems, fled the scene, making his way to a relative's house in the Rohini area. It was there that the weight of his actions, or perhaps a moment of panicked clarity, prompted him to confess the crime to his family.

The revelation naturally shocked his relatives, who then promptly alerted the authorities. Upon receiving the information, a police team swiftly arrived at the couple's residence near Paschim Vihar West Metro Station. The sight that greeted them was grim: Renu's body lay there, a stark testament to the violence she had endured. Varun was subsequently taken into custody, and a case under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him.
