He emphasized that the master plan must include robust strategies for efficient waste disposal, ensuring the market remains clean and hygienic. Beyond sanitation, the perennial nightmare of traffic congestion around the market will also be a priority.

The plan is expected to outline effective measures to streamline vehicular movement and manage parking, bringing much-needed order to the chaotic streets.

Furthermore, the issue of illegal hawkers and encroachments, which severely impede public access and contribute to the disarray, is set to be rigorously addressed.

The GBA Chief stressed that the master plan should incorporate clear guidelines for regulating hawkers, ensuring designated vending zones, and decisively clearing all illegal structures that have mushroomed around the market premises. The integrity of public spaces and the free flow of movement are paramount.

The collaborative effort will involve key departments, including the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the Bengaluru City Police, the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).
