Such was the case this past Tuesday when what likely began as a peaceful morning hike unfortunately turned into a somber rescue operation. Authorities have now confirmed the death of a 63-year-old man from Rochester, New Hampshire, who was found unresponsive while hiking solo on Mount Major. Reports indicate that emergency crews were first alerted around 11:30 in the morning after another hiker discovered the man in distress.
