Two people in critical condition after Hampstead apartment fire

Article content A five year old boy and a 36 year old man have been hospitalized in critical condition after being seriously injured in a fire that took place Sunday night in a Hampstead apartment building. Their lives are believed to be in danger. Emergency services were called to the building on Côte St Luc Rd.

near Hingston Ave. around 10:10 p.m. The fire department eventually designated the blaze a three alarm fire. When they arrived on the scene, firefighters located the two victims and removed them from the building. They were transported to a hospital. The entire building was evacuated. It took approximately two hours for firefighters to bring the blaze under control.

The exact cause of the fire has yet to be made public, but all signs point to it having been accidental..
