Tragedy Strikes Indore: Three-Storey Building Crumbles, Claiming Lives and Injuring Dozens

A pall of sorrow has descended upon Indore, Madhya Pradesh, following the catastrophic collapse of a three-storey residential building. The devastating incident has tragically claimed the lives of two individuals and left a dozen others injured, sending shockwaves through the community.

The collapse, which occurred late last evening in a densely populated area of the city, rapidly transformed a bustling neighbourhood into a scene of chaos and despair.

Eyewitnesses recounted hearing a thunderous roar before the structure gave way, sending dust and debris billowing into the air. First responders were immediately alerted, rushing to the scene to assess the damage and begin the arduous task of rescue.

Emergency services, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams, were promptly mobilised.

With the assistance of local police and fire brigade personnel, they launched a massive search and rescue operation. Using specialised equipment, sniffer dogs, and heavy machinery, rescuers worked tirelessly through the night, meticulously sifting through the tangled rubble in a desperate race against time to locate and extricate any trapped individuals.

The injured, many of whom sustained serious wounds, were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.

Authorities have confirmed that the deceased include one elderly resident and another individual whose identity is still being ascertained. The condition of several injured individuals remains critical, underscoring the severity of the collapse.
