All flight activity was paused at St. John's International Airport just before 8:30 a.m. on Friday after a bomb threat was reported. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says a patrol unit is on scene and is investigating the credibility of the threat. People are asked to stay away from the terminal, which has been evacuated, while the investigation is ongoing.
Passengers are being asked to contact their airlines about potential flight disruptions. This is the second time the terminal has been closed to the public in a little over a month. The airport shut down briefly in early December due to a suspicious package, which turned out to be a false alarm. CBC News has contacted the RNC and the airport authority.
