Soldiers on the Frontline: Western Command Spearheads Critical Flood Relief Operations Across Jammu and Punjab

In a powerful testament to their unwavering commitment to national service, the Indian Army's Western Command has been at the forefront of extensive flood relief operations, providing critical succour to communities reeling from the devastating impact of heavy rainfall across Jammu and Punjab. Spearheading these crucial efforts, Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the distinguished Army Commander, Western Command, recently embarked on a comprehensive tour to personally oversee the rescue missions and assess the operational readiness of his troops.

The Commander's rigorous inspection commenced in the flood-affected regions of Jammu, with pivotal visits to Akhnoor and Samba districts.

Here, he engaged in candid discussions with local commanders and civil administration officials, meticulously evaluating the ground realities and the effectiveness of ongoing relief efforts. His presence on the ground underscored the Army's dedication to a hands-on approach, ensuring every possible resource is mobilised to alleviate the suffering of the affected populace.

Following his assessment in Jammu, Lt Gen Katiyar extended his tour to the forward areas of Punjab, traversing regions like Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Ferozepur, Rupnagar, Jalandhar, and Kapurthala.
