Sarfaraz Khan scores 96 vs England Lions in practice match day after Test snub

Listen to Story Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan continued to let his bat do the talking after once again being overlooked as India announced their Test squad for the two Tests against England. Sarfaraz was one of the names that was snubbed by the BCCI and Indian cricket team selectors for the squad facing England for the first two Tests at Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.

Following the line of trend, Sarfaraz scored a pivotal 96 run knock against England Lions during India A's practice match at Ahmedabad. The very important innings by Sarfaraz became another case by the player in front of the Indian cricket team selectors and BCCI for his chance to don the National team jersey.

Following Sarfaraz's innings against England Lions, there has been a lot of criticism directed towards the BCCI for omitting the players' names from the squad list against England. Despite performing exceptionally well in domestic and first class cricket, getting 3692 runs in his 63 innings in the latter.

This is certainly not the first time Sarfaraz has had a good stint with the bat. In December 2023, Sarfaraz scored a magnificent 64 ball century in an intra squad game in Pretoria. Even after recording such big numbers, Sarfaraz missed out on an India call up for the Test Squad facing South Africa. Even after amassing tonnes of runs in domestic cricket, Sarfaraz's continued omission from the Indian national team has raised quite a few eyebrows.

With the Indian team currently facing Afghanistan for a three match T20 series and the upcoming five match Test series against England late in January, it will be interesting to see whether Srafraz's name gains the attention of the Indian selectors shortly..
