No significant snow overnight in Portland, but it’s still in the forecast
While the Portland area saw some light snow overnight Friday into Saturday, there was no significant snowfall. But it’s still on the way, according to the National Weather Service. The snow is expected to begin late morning to early afternoon Saturday and last until the evening hours and maybe into Sunday morning. The area is looking at 6 8 inches of accumulation, depending on elevation, according to the weather service. A forecasted high of 18 degrees today will be in January since records started being kept in October 1940. The coldest was 16 degrees on Jan. 31, 1950.
