In a significant blow to international drug trafficking, El Salvador's Navy has successfully intercepted and seized 4.1 tons of cocaine floating in the Pacific Ocean. The massive bust, announced by President Nayib Bukele, represents a substantial victory in the ongoing fight against illicit drug trade, with the narcotics estimated to be worth more than $103 million.

The operation unfolded approximately 880 kilometers (547 miles) off El Salvador's coast in international waters.

Naval forces meticulously tracked and intercepted three semi-submersible vessels, often referred to as 'narco-subs,' which are covertly used by drug cartels to transport large quantities of illegal substances across vast ocean expanses. These low-profile vessels are notoriously difficult to detect, making their interception a testament to the vigilance and advanced capabilities of the Salvadoran Navy.

During the intricate operation, seven individuals were apprehended.
