Korean Director Kim Hong sun Signs With CAA (EXCLUSIVE)

Renowned Korean TV and film director Kim Hong sun has inked a deal for representation with the U.S. talent agency Creative Arts Agency (CAA). Kim, a seasoned director and producer, boasts expertise in genre television spanning action, thrillers, and horror. Among his notable achievements are six episodes of Netflix's "Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area"; the inaugural season of Korean crime thriller series "Voice," created by Content K and aired on Netflix; and "Son: The Guest," a Netflix competition entry at Series Mania 2019, produced by Studio Dragon.

In 2017, Kim added another feather to his cap, helming the direction, scriptwriting, and production of feature film "The Age of Blood." The film starred Jung Hae In, the lead actor of "12.12: The Day," Korea's highest-earning film of 2023. The action-packed period drama about a skilled royal swordsman degraded to the position of a prison warden, who then fends off a rebellion, generated $166,000 following its theatrical release in November of the same year. The film was on the international market courtesy of M Line Distribution.

Kim (not to be mistaken for the director bearing the same name who directed "Project Wolf Hunting"), is also recognized for his work on shows like "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning," "Liar Game," and "Pied Piper," and the Coupang Play series "Decoy," available globally on Amazon's Prime Video.

Currently, Kim is busy filming the Netflix series "Hong Rang," a mystery melodrama set to be released in 2024. Besides directing, Kim also serves as an executive producer on various projects under his production company, H House, which has credit on "Hong Rang," "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning," and the 2020 series "Tell Me What You Saw."

At CAA, Kim will be under the management of Nick Lafferty and Kara Petit.
