Indonesia Erupts: Thousands Protest Election Results as Military Deploys in Jakarta

Jakarta, Indonesia – A wave of public dissent has swept through Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, as thousands of protestors took to the streets, voicing their outrage over the recent presidential election results. The demonstrations, marked by calls for justice and allegations of widespread fraud, have led to the deployment of military personnel across key areas, underscoring the escalating tensions in the nation.

The focal point of the protests revolves around the Constitutional Court, where appeals challenging the February 14 election results are currently being heard.

Supporters of losing presidential candidates Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo have gathered en masse, demanding the court annul the election, which saw Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto declared the victor with a commanding 58% of the vote.
