In a wave of global concern, several prominent European airports recently fell victim to a series of cyberattacks. However, India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has swiftly moved to reassure the nation and international travelers, confirming that major Indian aviation hubs – Delhi, Goa, and Hyderabad – remain entirely unaffected by these digital disruptions.

The attacks, largely attributed to the pro-Russia hacking group 'Killnet,' targeted numerous European airports with Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) assaults.

A DDoS attack aims to overwhelm a system's servers with a flood of internet traffic, making services temporarily unavailable to legitimate users. While these attacks caused significant headaches and operational challenges for airports in countries like Germany – including Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne, and Hannover – India's robust cybersecurity infrastructure and proactive monitoring prevented any such incidents on its soil.
