PTI Rohit Sharma endured another forgettable outing after he was dismissed for a golden duck in the second T20I between India and Afghanistan in Indore on Sunday. Rohit had made his T20I comeback after 14 months in the first T20I in Mohali, a venue where he was dismissed for a two ball duck. The India skipper, as a result, created an unwanted record with his dismissal on Sunday.
This was the first time in his T20I career when Rohit has been dismissed for consecutive ducks. In the second T20I, Rohit cleaned up by Fazalhaq Farooqi after going for a pull shot. In the first T20I, Rohit was dismissed in unceremonious fashion after he was involved in a mix up with Shubman Gill. Rohit had drilled towards mid off and called for a quick single, but Gill at the non strikers’ end had ended up watching the ball instead of responding to Rohit’s call.
That eventually meant Rohit ended up at the non strikers’ end while being run out by wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
