Hoboken’s First Restaurant Week Set to Sizzle with Special Menus and Deals

When the calendar flips to early November, Hoboken’s food‑loving crowd will have something extra to look forward to. The city is rolling out its very first Restaurant Week, a two‑week celebration (Nov. 9‑22) packed with special menus, limited‑edition plates and wallet‑friendly deals.

The push comes from the Hoboken Business Alliance, the special improvement district that helps keep the streets bright and the sidewalks lively. Their board believes the event will shine a spotlight on the tiny mile‑square borough where, astonishingly, more than a quarter of every retail space houses a coffee shop, a bakery, a bar or a full‑service restaurant.

“Hoboken's restaurants are at the heart of what makes our city such an incredible place to live, work, and visit,” said James Runkle, president of the Hoboken Business Alliance Board of Trustees. “Restaurant Week gives us a chance to showcase the variety and quality of our local dining scene.”

Participating chefs will roll out prix‑fixe options that let diners sample signature dishes without the usual price tag. Some spots will debut exclusive creations you won’t see on the regular menu—think a summer‑fruit gazpacho in the fall or a limited‑run cocktail crafted just for the week.

Because Hoboken is essentially a walking neighborhood, guests can hop from a croissant shop on Washington Street to a waterfront grill near the train terminal without breaking a sweat. Even the light‑rail that snakes along the west side makes the culinary tour feel like a leisurely stroll.

Luca Infantino, owner of Alessio’s Café and a trustee of the Alliance, added, “It’s about getting people through our doors and letting them taste what we do best. Restaurant Week is the perfect invitation.”

The full roster of restaurants, cafés, bakeries and bars will be revealed closer to the start date. Business owners who want to join the festivities can sign up through a registration form, with a deadline of Nov. 2.

For locals and visitors alike, the promise is simple: a week (plus two weekends) of tasty experiments, friendly prices, and a chance to discover hidden gems right in the heart of Hoboken.
