Delhi Police Uncovers Major Inter-State Drug Ring: Two Arrested, Massive Haul Seized in Gandhi Nagar

In a significant breakthrough against the pervasive menace of drug trafficking, the Delhi Police's Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Shahdara District has successfully dismantled a sophisticated inter-state drug syndicate, arresting two key operatives and seizing substantial quantities of illicit substances.

The meticulous operation culminated in the apprehension of Mohd Momin, a seasoned player in the illicit trade, and his associate Mohd Kamil, who was newer to the criminal enterprise.

The dramatic bust, which unfolded in the bustling Gandhi Nagar area of Delhi, yielded a staggering 20 kilograms of ganja and 100 grams of high-purity heroin.

This substantial haul not only represents a major blow to the syndicate's supply chain but also prevents these dangerous narcotics from reaching vulnerable communities across the Delhi-National Capital Region.

Investigations revealed that the notorious syndicate had its roots deeply embedded in Uttar Pradesh, specifically in the Badaun district.

From this base, they orchestrated an intricate network designed to procure drugs from distant sources and distribute them across Delhi-NCR. Their modus operandi was characterized by cunning and adaptability: they frequently changed their rented accommodations, hopping between different locations to evade detection and keep law enforcement agencies off their scent.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Surendra Choudhary, the Anti-Narcotics Cell had been working tirelessly, gathering intelligence and tracking the movements of this elusive group.

The breakthrough came after persistent surveillance and technical analysis, leading officers directly to the suspects and their hidden stash.

Mohd Momin, one of the arrested, has a known history of involvement in similar drug-related offenses, underscoring his deep entrenchment in the criminal underworld.

Mohd Kamil, while a newer recruit, played a crucial role in the syndicate's day-to-day operations. Both individuals were instrumental in the distribution pipeline that funnelled drugs from their procurement points to eager buyers.

Further probing into the syndicate's supply chain indicated that the ganja was sourced from the eastern states of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, known hubs for cannabis cultivation.

The heroin, a more potent and dangerous substance, also entered their network through various clandestine routes. Once in Delhi-NCR, the drugs were aggressively marketed to a diverse clientele, including unsuspecting students, hardworking laborers, and even small businessmen, exploiting their vulnerabilities and driving addiction.

The syndicate employed modern financial transaction methods, primarily relying on online payments to facilitate their illicit trade, adding another layer of complexity for investigators.
