Cyclist’s body found down Eagle County highway embankment days after hit and run crash

The body of a cyclist was found down an embankment two days after they were killed in a hit and run crash along U.S. 6 in Eagle County, according to the Colorado State Patrol. State troopers responded to reports of a body found down an embankment off the side of U.S. 6 near Edwards at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators determined the person was a cyclist who was struck and killed by a driver sometime between 12:30 and 2 a.m. Sunday. The driver left the scene, and investigators believe the bicycle was removed from the area, according to a Colorado State Patrol news release. The cyclist’s identity has not been released.
