Intel has also unveiled its Series 1 family of mobile processors for thin and lights Following the recent introduction of their AI focused Core Ultra chips in December, Intel has finally showcased its comprehensive 14th Gen lineup of CPUs for mobile and desktop PCs, at CES 2024. Among the highlights are the new HX series mobile processors targeting gamers and creators, and the Series 1 family for thin and light mobile systems.
The 14th Gen processors for notebooks, an upgrade from the 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs unveiled in CES 2023, are led by the Intel Core i9 14900HX. Boasting 24 cores (eight Performance cores, 16 Efficiency cores) and 32 threads with a turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, this flagship chipset is designed for high performance enthusiast laptops.
Intel claims a 17 per cent improvement in gaming performance compared to AMD’s Ryzen 9 7945X3D and a 51 per cent boost in multitasking performance compared to the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX. The HX series also introduces 50 percent more E cores in the Intel Core i7 14700HX processors. The new HX family supports up to 192GB of DDR5 memory and features advanced connectivity options, including Thunderbolt 5, Wi Fi 6E, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5.3.
Intel expects over 60 laptops powered by the Intel Core 14th Gen HX processors to hit the market this year alone. In the desktop space, Intel unveiled 18 new 14th Gen processors, including the Core i9 14900, running at 65 watt and 35 watt power levels. With a turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, these processors promise up to 37 per cent faster multi thread performance and 7 per cent better Microsoft Office performance compared to the previous generation.
The flagship Core i9 14900 processor features 24 cores (eight P cores, 16 E cores), while the Core i7 14700 has 20 cores (eight P cores, 12 E cores). Additionally, Intel introduced the Series 1 family of mobile processors, led by the Intel Core 7 processor 150U, for thin and light devices. These processors, with up to 10 cores, 12 threads, and turbo frequencies of up to 5.4 GHz, support up to 96 GB of total DDR5/DDR4 memory, Thunderbolt 4, PCIe Gen 4.0, PCIe Gen 3.0 for SSD storage, Bluetooth 5.4, and 5.3.
Devices powered by Intel Core U Series 1 processors are expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2024. (With inputs from agencies) Join our Whatsapp channel to get the latest global news updates Published on: January 10, 2024 10:17:08 IST TAGS: Consumer Electronics Show Intel Intel Ai Intel Core.
