Kaley Cuoco is ready to throw hands in the name of her daughter. During her appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Monday, she passionately recalled wanting to “strangle” a woman who openly judged her and boyfriend Tom Pelphrey’s parenting during their 9 month old daughter’s first plane ride.
“It was our first flight ever with this baby, which is terrifying. We were very terrified,” the “Flight Attendant” star explained. “I thought, ‘What do we do? We have to bring her sound machine on the plane. It’s the only thing she can go to sleep to.” But as predicted, little Matilda was not happy about the plane ride and let all the passengers know.
“So she’s crying. It was hard,” Cuoco, 38, said. “She finally falls asleep and the sound machine is on and we were finally like [sighs].” For more Page Six you love … Unfortunately, that’s when a flight attendant came by and said another passenger wanted them to turn the sound machine off.
“I’m sitting there like, ‘Oh, my god,'” the actress recalled. “I can feel Tom be like, ‘Hey, ask the passenger if she wants to hold our screaming child when we turn it [off],'” she said. “The ice went into his veins.” The “Big Bang Theory” alum told Kimmel, 56, that she and Pelphrey, 41, were beside themselves, but matters only got worse when the plane landed and Matilda was in a cheerful mood again.
“It was the woman right in front of us [who complained],” Cuoco continued. “The lady turns around and goes, ‘Oh, so your daughter does know how to smile.'” The revelation caused the audience to gasp in surprise. “It was in that moment where I understood why women end up on ‘Dateline,'” Cuoco quipped.
“I could have strangled [her]. … I could’ve thrown that woman off the plane.” She went on to express her frustration about how society views babies as an inconvenience. “You see all these things on social media where people are really, truly getting mad at these babies,” she explained. “Like, justice for babies!” she joked.
“This is ridiculous … leave them alone!” Despite the annoyance, Cuoco described motherhood in general as “incredible.” She and Pelphrey welcomed their little one on March 30, 2023, after just under a year of dating. Cuoco and the “Ozark” actor met at the Season 4 premiere of the hit Netflix series in April 2022, which she previously described as “love at first sight.” They announced her pregnancy in October of that year.
In May 2023, the “8 Simple Rules” alum said she knew she wanted to have a baby with Pelphrey as soon as she met him. “Tom came along, and something changed,” she gushed to Emmy magazine..
