Bill Clinton spotted smiling in Mexico hours before being named in released Jeffrey Epstein files

Bill Clinton was smiling and greeting fans in Mexico on Wednesday, seemingly unfazed as a trove of documents connected him to disgraced pedophile Jeffrey Epstein were set to be released. The former president, 77, could be seen visiting San Miguel de Allende, a small city in the central Mexico state of Guanajuato, according to photos posted by Mayor Mauricio Trejo Pureco.

“Even Bill Clinton walks calmly and safely through the streets of San Miguel de Allende,” the mayor wrote on social media alongside the photo, which showed the former president sipping coffee and shaking hands with passersby. Despite his calm demeanor, Clinton was dragged back into Epstein’s orbit just hours later when a trove of previously unseen documents was released on Wednesday evening.

The first round of documents released shed new light on the scope of the deceased financier’s elusive sex trafficking ring. Clinton was named at least 73 times, though he was not implicated in any illegal activity. One mention includes 2016 testimony from Epstein accuser Johanna Sjoberg, who said Epstein told her the former president “likes them young” — referring to his preference for women.

Other appearances in the files include accuser Virginia Giuffre’s attempts to compel Clinton to be deposed during her 2015 lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s co conspirator who is now serving 20 years in jail for her role in the sex trafficking scheme. Giuffre claimed to have met Clinton on Epstein’s private Caribbean Island — where the perv is said to have hosted orgies between underage women and powerful men — which Clinton has adamantly denied.

Keep up with The Post’s live blog on the revelations about Epstein’s associates revealed in the newly released documents here. Clinton is known to have flown on Epstein’s private jet, known as the “Lolita Express” for its role in Epstein’s sex trafficking, but available records support claims that the former president never visited the island.

Also, a bizarre painting of Clinton lounging in a blue dress was famously featured in Epstein’s NYC townhouse. The blue dress was a crude reference to the president’s relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Former president Donald Trump was also named in the new files. Follow along with The Post’s updates on the Jeffrey Epstein list of 170 of his associates.

Trump, who appears at least four times in the first round of new documents, is known to have traveled on Epstein’s plane in the 1990s and was photographed with him numerous times in the early 2000s. Giuffre alleged in deposition records released Wednesday that she was first lured into Epstein’s web when she was a 17 year old spa attendant at Trump’s Mar a Lago resort in Florida.

Mark Epstein, the younger brother of Jeffrey, told The Post on Wednesday that his brother mentioned in 2016 that he had such incendiary information about Trump and the Clintons that it could upend the presidential election. “Here’s a direct quote: ‘If I said what I know about both candidates, they’d have to cancel the election.’ That’s what Jeffrey told me in 2016,” the younger Epstein said his brother told him during a conversation about the heated showdown between Trump and Clinton’s wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Epstein said his brother did not elaborate on the nature of what he knew. About 170 people connected with Epstein — ranging from possible conspirators to employees and victims — are expected to be named in the files. The second batch was released on Thursday night..
