Yankees re sign left hander Tanner Tully on minor league deal

Add another name to the Yankees’ list of pitching fliers. The Yankees are bringing back Tanner Tully on a minor league pact that includes an invite to major league spring training, a source said. Baseball America first reported the deal. Tully, a 29 year old lefty, made 19 starts for Triple A Scranton/Wilkes Barre last season in which he pitched to a 5.64 ERA.

Through 14 starts he had registered a 3.91 ERA, but a rough late June and July skewered his final line. Tully left the Yankees in August to pitch in the Korea Baseball Organization, posting a 2.92 ERA in 11 starts for the NC Dinos. Tully, who came up with Cleveland, has three games of major league experience with the Guardians.

The Yankees are short on lefty relievers, with just Victor González, Nick Ramirez and Matt Krook on the 40 man roster. The Yankees’ pitching depth has taken a large hit this offseason after prospect heavy trades for Juan Soto and Alex Verdugo. Yankees pitchers and catchers will report to spring training on Feb.

14, the team announced. Their first workout will be held the following day. The position players will report on Feb. 19 before the first full squad workout on Feb. 20..
