Woman killed while crossing street in East Oakland hit and run crash

An Oakland woman died Sunday morning after a car hit her while she was walking through a crosswalk, then fled the scene, in East Oakland. The woman was crossing a street just before 9 a.m. near the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard when a white, four door Cadillac Deville hit her, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she died. Her name was not released Monday by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office, pending notification of her next of kin. The Cadillac fled the scene.
