MILWAUKEE — A more cohesive Warriors lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, 129 118, but were competitive throughout playing without a resting Steph Curry at the end of a back to back against one of the top offenses in the NBA. Brandin Podziemski, back in his hometown starting in Curry’s place, had a 23 point, 10 rebound double double.
One of his trio of 3 pointers was a step back over towering Giannis Antetokounmpo. Jonathan Kuminga had a team high 24 points shooting 9 for 17 from the field. After a hot shooting night in Chicago, Thompson cooled down with 21 points going 7 for 23 from the field. The game saw 18 lead changes and the Warriors, at one point in the third quarter, led by seven.
But the Bucks rallied in the fourth to take the win behind Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. The Warriors continue this road trip against the Memphis Grizzlies for an earlier Martin Luther King Jr. game on Monday and finish off the roadie at Utah. Then they return home to take on the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings..
