Suresh Kumar and K. Kumaresh Babu decided to consolidate all the varied cases stemming from that tragic March 13th stampede, setting a date later that month — March 27th, to be precise — for a unified hearing. It’s a move that, for many, offers a glimmer of hope: a chance, perhaps, not just for legal pronouncements, but for a systemic overhaul, a promise that the lessons of Karur will be learned, deeply and enduringly, so that no more lives are lost to such avoidable mayhem.
