Watch: Virat Kohli gives a tour of his luxurious holiday home in Alibaug

Listen to Story Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli gave a glimpse of his newly built holiday home in Alibaug, a coastal town south of Mumbai. Stressing that 'home is a reflection of one's personality', Kohli gave a tour of his personal getaway destination, built over a 10,000 square foot plot in one of the poshest locales in the country.

said his idea of taking a break is 'slowing down' and staying away from the hectic normalcy of a professional athlete. The Californian Konkan style four bedroom villa, according to Architectural Digest, features high ceilings that allow natural light streaming through windows and glass walls.

The two storey villa, which has a light tone, has a cozy living room in which there is no television. It's a conscious choice from Kohli for his holiday home as the cricketer said it's a place for conversations amongst the members of the family. "The most interesting feature is the double height cut out ceiling in the living space, as it welcomes natural light.

The more the light, the better the energy," he said. Among other things, the villa also features Balinese sukabumi stone clad temperature controlled pool and jacuzzi and a fully customised kitchen, according to the report. Virat Kohli highlighted that he missed spending a lot of time with family, and eating food together when he was growing up as a cricketer due to his hectic schedule.

The 35 year old was thrilled by the set up of the dinner table inside the house and a coffee table outdoors. Kohli highlighted the expansive outdoor space in his holiday home, saying it helps him connect with nature. "The most important thing for me in a holiday home is the feeling you get where you enter.

It has to make you absolutely relaxed, centered, peaceful, feeling at home away from home," Kohli said in a video shared by Avas Wellness. Kohli, who resides in Mumbai, spoke about the need for him to find a cosy place that would allow him balance to work and life. "Family, for me, is top priority.

I know I am busy playing cricket, but I always want to just get back home as soon as possible. Work is a part of life that one needs to balance. I think we get it wrong, the other way around a lot of times. We try to balance life with work. I am in that space now where work is a small part of my life, which I am trying to balance now and not the other way around," he said.

Virat Kohli was in action in the two match Test series in South Africa earlier this month. The star batter will be taking the field next in the upcoming 3 match series against Afghanistan, starting January 11. after a gap of 14 months..
