Warm spell rolls across southwestern Ontario before evening showers and thunderstorms

The combination of lingering warm air near the surface and the cooler air aloft will likely spark a handful of thunderstorms, especially around London, Chatham‑Kent and the Niagara Peninsula.

At this point, there’s no reason to panic. The storms should be short‑lived, with only isolated heavy rain and a few gusty wind bursts. Still, Atchison recommends keeping an eye on local updates, especially if you’re planning to be out after dark. A light jacket, an umbrella in the car, and perhaps a brief check of the radar before heading out should keep you comfortable.
