In a recent development that has sent ripples through the cricketing world, Netherlands fast bowler Vivian Kingma has been handed a two-month ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a doping violation. The ban, effective from March 19, 2024, stems from Kingma testing positive for Furosemide, a prohibited substance under the ICC's Anti-Doping Code.

The incident traces back to March 2022, when Kingma was subjected to an out-of-competition test.

The results, confirmed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratory in Lausanne, Switzerland, indicated the presence of Furosemide, which is classified as a 'Specified Substance' in Section S5 of the WADA Prohibited List.
