[+] Washington Post via Getty Images) Key Facts The filing, which seeks to remove both Willis and Wade from the case, said both prosecutors engaged in an “improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency” of the case—one that Roman claims resulted in Wade being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars and Willis paying for and taking Wade on vacations around the world with taxpayers’ money.
Willis spokeswoman Pallavi Bailey told the Atlanta Journal Constitution that the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s claims “through appropriate court filings.” Roman cited unnamed sources close to Willis and Wade to back his allegations, claiming the sources confirmed the two had a “personal relationship” during ongoing divorce proceedings Wade is allegedly involved in.
The filing claimed that Willis and Wade violated public money laws, their oaths of office and conflicts of interest. Roman is one of 19 defendants in the election interference case and was charged with seven felony counts including conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer, conspiracy to commit filing false documents and a violation of Georgia’s racketeering act.
