Tiger Woods Parts Ways With Nike After 27 Years

After nearly 30 years, and the sports apparel giant are splitting up. Woods announced the split on his social platforms Monday. “Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever,” Woods .
“[Former Nike CEO] Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.” Nike, meanwhile, posted a photo of Woods with the caption “It was a hell of a round, Tiger.” Nike signed Woods when he was a 20 year old golf phenom, ultimately developing his own brand with its signature interconnected “TW” logo, and paying him hundreds of millions of dollars in the process.
Woods, of course, became one of the greatest golfers in history, and has since expanded into the media space with his in development . A terrible car crash in 2021 left Woods that his pro days were over, though he has since made something of a comeback to the sport. When Nike exited the golf equipment space a few years ago, Woods signed a deal with TaylorMade for clubs and with Bridgestone for balls, though his apparel, including his trademark red polo shirt, have always had the Nike swoosh.
